Narrative
CROSSVILLE, TX – A two-vehicle crash in central Cumberland County killed a 13-year-old teen early last Sunday.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. at the intersection of Northside Drive and Highway 70 N in the city of Crossville.
Police say that a pickup truck with two occupants struck a van carrying two adults and three teens when the driver of the latter vehicle failed to heed a flashing red light at the intersection.
A 13-year-old in the van died after transport to University of Tennessee Medical Center from injuries sustained in the accident.
Another teen from the van went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
It’s unclear if anyone in the pickup truck was hurt.
